Boy or Girl??

Sunday night while sitting at home, John and I were talking about the baby and if we thought it would be a boy or a girl. We knew my appointment to find out was coming up, so we thought it would be fun to do some of the old wives' tales tests to predict what our baby would be! :)

Here are some of the tests we did!

Chinese gender chart        boy
baby's heart beat>140      girl
sweet or salty cravings      girl
picking up a key               girl
ring swing                         boy
Dad's not gaining weight   boy
colder feet                        boy
eat the heal of bread         boy
soft skin                           girl
craving fruit                      girl
sleeps on left side             boy
show hands palm up         girl

These weren't all the tests we did, but a lot of them.

Results:
Based on the old wives' tales, it's a girl! But I wouldn't count on that... Girl only won by one test.

First Appointment

Well I had my first doctor's appointment this week here in Idaho! John came with me which was nice! :) All of the staff seemed really nice and they all knew a lot. They were so helpful to my questions about paper work, the baby, or just anything!

We were hoping we would get to find out this week if our baby is a boy or girl, but it turns out we'll have to wait and see next month. We did get to hear the baby's heart beat though which was amazing! Our doctor says he thinks it's a girl, but that's just a guess. He said he's 51% accurate. Haha! Well, we'll find out soon! :)

Also, I thought it was funny that for the first time when I stepped on a scale at the doctor's office I was expecting it to be higher and was glad when it was! Haha! Well, everything is going perfectly for our little one as far as we can tell. The only thing is I'm starting to get a little jealous of how warm the baby must be! And I'm out here in the snow! Brrrr! Oh well. Anything for baby, right? :)

Other than that everything has been going well. John and I are doing great here in Idaho. It snowed on Thursday which was not fun, but I'll either get used to it or just be burning up soon from the pregnancy! It's nice to have John with me! He's always so kind letting me warm up my cold hands in his on our way to school every morning! Still love him like crazy!! :)

Baby!!!

John and I will be expecting our first child on March 26, 2013! That's so exciting and just amazing! We're so excited and so are both of our families! Every time we call someone from either side of the family, the first thing they ask is how big I'm getting! Haha! They're all a little disappointed when we tell them that I'm not showing much yet. The funny thing is that I'm showing a little, but it's so small that instead of looking pregnant, I think I just look a tiny bit chubby! (...awkward...haha!) Well, hopefully by Christmas I'll be big enough to appease our families! I would say Thanksgiving, but that might still be a little too soon! :)

Also, I get an update every week telling me how big the baby is now! The funny thing is it's always compared to a different fruit or vegetable! Being from California and coming to Utah and Idaho, I have no idea what the normal size of a lemon or peach is anymore, so it's not as helpful as it should be. It's still fun to hear about though! :)

Still can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl! But that still won't come for another month or so.

Happiest day of our lives!

Here are a few pictures of John and I. We got engaged on December 10, 2011.

We were then married on Saturday, May 12, 2012, in the Sacramento, California LDS Temple! That was such an amazing day! I'm so glad that we were able to be married for time and all eternity!

Marrying John was the best decision I ever made and will always be my favorite and most cherished memory! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life and eternity with him!

Religion

I chose when I was younger to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. To me, this means a lot of things. This means that I go to church for three hours or more on Sundays. It means that I wear modest clothes and don’t use foul language. It means that I obey the word of wisdom and keep my body clean and healthy.
But most importantly, to me this means that I know that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me. I know that Jesus Christ died for me so that I can be saved and live in heaven with my loved ones someday. I know that I can live with my family forever in heaven. I know that I need to do my best to have charity and follow Christ’s example that was set for each of us.
I have a testimony of this gospel. I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith did help to restore this gospel. I know that we have a true prophet on this Earth today and that as we follow his guidance we will be blessed. As we strive to do our best each day and follow the Lord’s commandments, we will come closer to God and our Savior. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
